“Fur by Hong Kong” is now synonymous with quality around the world: advanced technology, unmatched craftsmanship and original design.
The Hong Kong International Fur & Fashion Fair, the international event dedicated to the world of fur, was held on 25 – 28 February 2016 and saw the involvement of more than 240 exhibitors from thirteen countries.
The event, which featured trendy fur garments, the finest raw materials and a wide range of accessories, opened with the usual Fur Gala, a glamorous moment that highlighted the quality of fur garments coming from Hong Kong and sold in more than 20 countries.
The proposals on the catwalk were creative, innovative and captivating. An expression of cutting-edge fashion, chic and timeless, fascinated the international buyers and the guest of honor Ko Wingman, BBS, JP, Secretary for Food and Health of the HKSAR Government. His presence highlighted the government’s recognition for the achievements of the fur industry on the international stage, as pointed out by Henry Sun, Chairman of the Hong Kong Fur Federation:
“Hong Kong furriers continue to refine their techniques by making use of the most innovative technologies and constantly looking for a fascinating design. This has made the city one of the most reputable trading partners for the fur world. In this sense, the long-term support of the HKSAR Government is fundamental for establishing Hong Kong as a leading “brand” in the field of fur apparel.”
“Rouge”, this is the theme of the gala that showcased 14 local collections and over 140 looks that celebrated the romantic, passionate, glamorous and elegant charm of the opulent material and its versatility. The collections exhibited ranged from romantic and sporty silhouettes, to urban chic styles and gorgeous evening gowns. Every piece paid homage to a modern femininity and enthralled visitors with truly luxurious textures and visual effects.
